Swim and fish in summer on a lovely small lake. In winter, enjoy the best skiing in the Eastern U.S. at Smugglers Notch. Any time of year, enjoy a get-away to one of the most scenic parts of Vermont. This attractive cottage has all of the conveniences of home--a full kitchen, one and a half bathrooms, three bedrooms, laundry washer and dryer, WiFi, TV with satellite, etc. Extras include an outdoor hot tub, large yard, an enclosed porch with wood-burning fireplace, etc.
The lake frontage is across a narrow quiet road, but also has a picnic table, firepit, dock, and the use of a rowboat, canoe, or kayak. The lake is small, and shallow for quite a distance from the shore, safe swimming for children. Fishing is popular, with smallmouth bass, northern pike, and other sought-after species.
Smugglers Notch ski area is just a 13-mile drive, and in exchange for that drive, the price of lodging here is a fraction of what you would pay right at the slopes.
The cottage is completely furnished, including linens, dishes, cookware, even a small amount of food left in the fridge so that you won't have to pack a lot of stuff or to shopping right after arrival.
The nearest villages (with stores and restaurants) are about 7 miles away. Burlington, host to several colleges, is about 35 miles away, offering numerous cultural activities. We are also close enough to the Canadian border to make Montreal a convenient day-trip. Many of our guests use the cottage as a home base for visiting attractions and activities throughout Vermont and the Northeast.
In the peak summer period, all reservations are for full weeks only--Saturday to Saturday. The rest of the year, the minimum stay is two days, although rates go down if you rent for a full week.
