Friendly, Coastal Bed and Breakfast In Kaka Point, South Otago
Our modern house is two minutes walk from the Kaka Point Beach, reserve and restaurant. Guests have their own private bathroom, shower, toilet with a separate entrance. We have a queen sized bedroom and another with twin beds. Breakfast includes muesli and fruit grown in Central Otago and freshly baked bread plus yogurt, tea or coffee . At breakfast we are able to tell visitors about the surrounding area, while we learn about the country and area our guests come from. We only have one party at a time. Our lounge and deck have panoramic views of the coast line and inland up the Clutha River towards Central Otago. The changing light on the surrounding landscape and sea make for spectacular viewing in the evening and morning. Spectacular sunrises can be viewed from the deck. Janice also is an artist and guests are most welcome to view her paintings in the gallery. Kaka Point is on the Southern Scenic Route between Queenstown, Te Anau,and Dunedin. The world renowned Nugget Point lighthouse and reserve is 15 minutes drive away. Here you can view the rugged Catlins coastline with its cliffs and offshore stacks. The rare Yellow eyed penguin can be see in the coming ashore in the evenings, while nesting royal spoonbills and many other sea birds are also seen. Seals and sea lions also frequent the rocks and beaches.
